The presentation will focus on the potential of technologies in the teaching/learning of subject content through a foreign language, according to the CLIL methodology.ICT, webtools, Internet can offer a lot of materials, hints, suggestions to enhance students’ motivation and outcomes, supporting the daily teaching practice and the implementation of CLIL at school, both at primary and secondary level, as recommended by the latest Good School Reform” (Law 107/2015). Examples of tools, materials, lesson plans will be shown during the presentation, offering the attendees hints and suggestions to use in their classes. Examples of materials and projects produced by the students will be depicted as evidence of high level of motivation and better learning outcomes.Particular attention will be devoted to teacher training, which has become a hot issue in the framework of Law 107. Self-reflection and awareness are going to be the key words of teacher professional development, leading towards a more conscious understanding of the training needs to satisfy. In this light, reference will be made to the recent training initiative promoted by the speakers within an international community of peers named “Techno-CLIL for EVO 2016”. The online training was carried out between January and February 2016 and registered about 5000 participants (teachers, trainers, educators) from all over the world. The syllabus of the training pathway, with examples of products of the attendees will be presented during the talk. Reference to the webinars with the international CLIL experts involved in the initiative will also be made. Then, the use of the Learning Diary within this initiative will be described as an example of tool aimed at fostering self-reflection and awareness, recording the most relevant moments of the learning pathway in a multimedia format.So the talk will be aimed at showing how technologies can help the planning and implementation of CLIL at primary and secondary school for a higher level of motivation and better outcomes.In order to reach this aim, a careful and well-structured teacher training plan is needed, also considering the latest Reform Laws and a recent successful initiative carried out by the speaker in this field.
