This article will analyze the WikiLeaks phenomenon and its influence on journalism and international politics. While denying the network-state dichotomy, it is argued that WikiLeaks is a stateless news organization engaged in networked journalism. In this condition, the organization founded by Assange can be seen as an international player. In particular, WikiLeaks is an agent actively hostile within the world structure wherein the United States controls flows of communication, not for territorial expansion but to perpetuate their political-economic preeminence. For this reason, the Snowden files of 2013 are more important than the information the organization released in 2010.

Abstract
This article will analyze the WikiLeaks phenomenon and its influence on journalism and international politics. While denying the network-state dichotomy, it is argued that WikiLeaks is a stateless news organization engaged in networked journalism. In this condition, the organization founded by Assange can be seen as an international player. In particular, WikiLeaks is an agent actively hostile within the world structure wherein the United States controls flows of communication, not for territorial expansion but to perpetuate their political-economic preeminence. For this reason, the Snowden files of 2013 are more important than the information the organization released in 2010.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
