This article analyses the potentialities of Augmented Reality ‒ oneof the evolutions of Web 3.0 ‒ in creating authentic, involving, interactivelanguage learning contexts and thus it represents an opportunity toreflect in general on the impact and the role of technology in education,on teachers’ attitudes, and on the ambivalences and the risks of theWeb. Only where technological aims do not prevail over educationalones can Augmented Reality become a useful tool both to enrich languagelearning activities within a formal context and to promote ubiquitouslearning.
