Al di là dei generi e dei media: il romanzo-romanzo di Georges Simenon

The article begins with a survey of the current reception of Simenon to illustrate the new perspectives opened by considering his work in a comparative and intermedial context. Its aim is to demonstrate that it was precisely in the space between genre literature and the media that Simenon found the opportunity to develop an original poetics of the novel, anticipating the crisis of literary meaning that, a few decades later, would characterize the period of the narrative turn, thus revealing himself to be fully contemporary.
