This article examines how digital subjectivity emerges from a long modern trajectory that progressively renders experience measurable, predictable and actionable by technical systems. Contemporary platforms intensify this process through datafication, personalization and algorithmic modulation of emotions, transforming affectivity into a key site of governance. Drawing on theories of algorithmic governmentality, desimbolization and affective labor, the article shows how profiling, nudging and a-signifying semiotics reshape perception, behaviour and social relations. The digital sphere generates polarized affective ecologies, interpassive participation and performative visibility. The conclusion considers whether the human–machine symbiosis can be reoriented toward common, emancipatory forms of technological use.
