In 2024 Sweden celebrated 50 years since the new Instrument of Government – which is one of the four fundamental laws that make up the Swedish Constitution – came into force. During this long period, the Swedish constitutional system has gone through various phases and revealed interesting evolutionary developments, which are deeply considered in the context of the dynamics of contemporary Nordic constitutionalism and in comparison with other well established continental experiences.
