Le recensioni al "Tommaseo Bellini" riprodotte nelle copertine delle dispense

A private writing in 1857 between Luigi Pomba and Niccolò Tommaseo marks the beginning of the path that would lead to the drafting and publication of the Dizionario della lingua italiana in Turin. The undertaking was first carried out in fascicles. To date, no attention has been given to the covers of the dispensations; these, in fact, are accompanied by unpublished annotations or warnings about the contributors or the issues of the dispensations; by news about publications; by advertisements for encyclopaedias and volumes published mainly by Pomba; and by reviews of the Dictionary published in journals. In this contribution, the writer presents a review in a handout and compares it with the same one published in periodicals and volumes. The analysis reveals interesting reflections on the linguistic discussions of the time and on the criteria for drafting and composing entries in 19th-century dictionaries.
