This article resumes the examination of available primary sources and utilizes unpublished archival documentation to reconstruct certain critical junctures of Italian colonialism in Libya, spanning from the final moments of the ephemeral statutory period to the initial impact of the fascist regime. The analysis of colonial discourse, understood in a Foucauldian sense as the outcome of processes of content selection and dissemination aimed at influencing the colonial community to regiment it under fascist principles, is conducted by examining the periodicals of the Fasci di combattimento in Tripolitania and Cyrenaica. The evolving indigenous political perspective is then explored through archival sources to investigate three dimensions: the verbal and physical violence exerted by fascists against notable figures and leaders of armed resistance; the proliferation of forms of anti-Semitism; labor policy and trade union relations. The practices of colonial governmentality are reconstructed bringing to light the voices of the subalterns embedded in power dynamics rapidly aligned with fascist ideology in the African land.

Abstract
The practices of colonial governmentality are reconstructed bringing to light the voices of the subalterns embedded in power dynamics rapidly aligned with fascist ideology in the African land.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
