The article reflects on the acquisition of advanced levels of Italian L2 as a condition for the full integration of the migrant in the host community, with particular reference to the fields of school, work and artistic-creative expression. This goal will be more easily achieved the more the Italian educational system opens up to the “multilingual turn”, i.e. to new didactic approaches, which consider the native languages and cultures of students with a migrant background as resources and not as obstacles to learning.
