This paper, after a preliminary analysis of the main characteristics of plurilingual and intercultural education and of the different ways of implementing it within the curriculum, according to Italian educational guidelines, focuses on the potentialities of Cooperative Learning in providing inclusive and multipurpose language learning spaces open to diversity and pluralism, especially when enhanced by technology. The paper then proposes an approach, ‘Cooperative BYOD’, which combines Cooperative Learning and Mobile Technology. Experience of four years of teaching university students confirms the strengths of this approach, namely an improvement in the quality of study, more inter-linguistic and inter-cultural exchanges, opportunities for critical reflection by students from different backgrounds, an improved cooperation among the students benefiting foreign students and students with difficulties.

Cooperative BYOD: un approccio plurale alla diversità linguistica e culturale
