During the COVID-19 pandemic emergency, ELT teachers, among many others in education, were forced to rethink and reshape their teaching modes by switching to online, remote, or hybrid formats. A wide range of challenges was faced by teachers in Italy as well as all over the world, as shown in different reports and research studies. Despite this, ELT was planned and implemented online, showing the potential of learning technologies in any possible educational scenario. The large use of web tools and platforms allowed teachers and students to foster online interaction. In this chapter, three examples, including a web tool, a platform, and an online teaching methodology are explored through semi- structured interviews with three EFL teachers from Italy. Results show that despite the challenges of the pandemic, teachers could plan and implement successful and fruitful online teaching and learning pathways. They showed positive attitudes towards learning technologies, highlighting their potential in terms of students’ motivation, engagement, and learning outcomes

Abstract
They showed positive attitudes towards learning technologies, highlighting their potential in terms of students’ motivation, engagement, and learning outcomesFile | Dimensione | Formato | |
