The chapter offers a comparative constitutional perspective on separation of powers and form of governments in time of emergencies in the Nordic Countries. Many delicate issues of constitutional balancing between the powers of the State arises after pandemic Covid-19, such as the requirements of a declaration of state of emergency, the constitutional competences to make such declaration, the oversight of the declaration and the prolongation of the state of emergency, the eventual limits on the scope and, finally, on the duration of emergency measures. Despite some general constitutional features can be identified, a further comparative studies in emergencies regimes uncovers significant differences in the Nordic constitutional systems.
