This essay wants to examine into consideration the places and production methods of a series of particular spectacular events that have associated several visual arts typical of Italy. We refer to the tv-films developed live in television broadcasting, conceived and produced by Andrea Andermann in the original places of the Italian melodrama tales: Tosca, in the places and hours of Tosca (1992), La Traviata à Paris (2000), Il Rigoletto in Mantua ( 2010), Cinderella, a live fairy tale (2012). These are milestones in the history of television that have totally changed the way we see Italian opera represented in the world through the specific live television and that have left viewers (over 1 billion and a half) with the unique experience of the places of Italy, of the Italian spirit and of the realization skills of an Italian artistic team. Spectacular progenitor events that have been able to mix fields other than the visual arts such as the experience and tradition of Italian opera, melodrama, with the technologies and production methods of television and cinema. These live films, connected to the places linked to the works, are involved directors such as Giuseppe Patroni Griffi, Marco Bellocchio, Carlo Verdone, the director of photography Vittorio Storaro, and the participation of prestigious opera singers including Placido Domingo, Ruggero Raimondi, Catherine Malfitano and the conductor Zubin Mehta.
