Abstract
Turkey is an emerging power. The European Union would benefit from understanding this. History and geopolitics are important factors to the economic development of Turkey. Traditional approaches to Turkish foreign policy have been influenced by the perception of Turkey as a Western border-state. During the AKP government, Turkey has fully rediscovered its historical past and revised its geopolitical orientation. Turkey is still a work in progress. In order to understand the evolution of Turkish foreign policy, the chapter-in-book proposes to link Turkey’s strategic relevance, its political influence as Anatolian state and its economic development, both at regional and global level.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
