This chapter tries to compare the Italian Comedy, a crucial moment of the italian cinema betweenthe Fifties and Sixties, with the new form of comedy represented by the world of web series.We will examine the creative process of the Italian Comedy and the work of its screenwriters, theirway to discuss the stories and the comedy language, then we will see how some dynamics survivein the web contents production, in order to find constants and differences. Tracing the features ofthe past and present comic language could be the key to predict what will be the future of thisparticular genre in the digital landscape.
