The phenomenon of migration of minors in European Union represents a wide and hard challenge for international as well as European systems. Migrants children are an heterogeneous category: this group mainly includes unaccompanied or separated children outside their country of origin, migrant children accompanied by their families or other relatives or previous legal or customary primary care-giver, children seeking asylum or other forms of international protection. Despite the complexity and the extent of the phenomenon of migration of minors in Europe, the common feature of migrant children as whole is their extreme vulnerability.
