This chapter focuses on three dimensions of Turkish political transformation. The first one is domestic and concerns the quest for political legitimacy on the part of the AKP and its opponents. The second is regional in scope and focuses on AKP foreign policy. The third is broadly international and it considers the interplay between economic and external factors, on the one hand, and domestic politics, on the other.
